How do I enroll in GED Preparation?

All students must complete the four steps to enrollment before beginning the preparation classes. Students have the one option of instruction; virtual or in-person.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED!

STEP 1: COMPLETE REGISTRATION FORM  (ONLINE OR IN-PERSON) Muzetta Thrower works on a semester system, meaning you can only enroll during the FALL or SPRING Sessions. A student must be 18 years of age before starting any classes in this program.

STEP 2: SCHEDULE AN ORIENTATION; all students must complete a school in-service orientation to learn about the organization's structures. Students complete a New Student Orientation when first entering the school and then a follow-up Orientation if returning to school for the following semester.

STEP 3: SCHEDULE AN ADVISING APPOINTMENT: In the GED Prep class students can choose if they want to attend both days for instruction or one day; both classes are two hours long with two subjects being taught.

STEP 4: CASAS ASSESSMENT: Students who enroll in this program must complete a CASAS Pre-test at the beginning and a Post-Test at the end of the semester. The assessment is a reading and math test to see students' educational levels and how the school can best support a student's academic needs. The CASAS test does not decide if you can start classes or is a determination of your graduation. It is part of the enrollment process and final exiting of the school. If students decline to take the assessment, they will not start classes, and enrollment will be denied immediately.

PLEASE COME IN-PERSON TO COMPLETE A PAPER REGISTRATION FORM BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 11:00 am - 6:00 pm-Monday thru Thursday.
