What Does an EKG Technicians Do? EKG Technicians are responsible for conducting various tests of a patient's heart and lungs, though primarily they perform electrocardiograms (EKGs). They attach wires to a patient's arms, chest, and legs, monitor EKG readings and report the test results.
What is an EKG Technician?
An EKG technician, or electrocardiograph technician, is responsible for operating and monitoring EKG equipment for n patients during diagnostic testing and surgical procedures. EKG technicians can find immediate employment in medical and surgical hospitals, specialty long-term care facilities, private practices, and more healthcare settings.
EKG technicians are in high demand. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the growth for EKG technicians is anticipated to increase by 10% from 2021 to 2023. California EKG technicians have an average salary of $84,520.

Mandatory Orientation: 1/31/24 Mandatory attending orientation
Program Length: 12 weeks (Monday-Wednesday Class dates: 2/5/24 - 5/10/24)-2/24/24 and 4/6/24 (no classes) 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Tuition Costs: $600.00 (Deposit $150.00 non-refundable due before class starts 1/27/24; cash only or money order APPLIED TO TUITION) Payment plans are available (3 payments = 1st-2/24/24, 2nd-3/30/24, 3rd-4/27/24), 4th-5/27/24)
Additional Student Costs: (textbook, black scrubs, calpers, AMCA exam, CPR, and stethoscope)
Do You Offer Payment Plans?
Yes! Interest-free payment plans are offered through MTAEC. Everyone qualifies. During the enrollment process, you will make a deposit to secure your place in a class. The remaining program fee balance can be spread over the 12-week course period (4 payments of $150.00 every 4 weeks).
What Is The Withdrawal Process?
The school reserves the right to cancel or postpone a program due to low enrollments. If the program is postponed or canceled in its entirety by the school and the student cannot be placed in another program, the student is entitled to a full refund of all fees, including the registration fee.
Fees incurred from textbooks, uniforms, background and drug tests, and basic supplies are the student's sole responsibility and will not be paid for, reimbursed, or refunded.
